Our State Officer Team

Elected by their peers at the State Leadership Conference, FBLA State Officers represent Iowa’s membership. The FBLA state officer team develops a program of work to guide the work of the team and local chapters. Throughout the year, FBLA state officers are available to attend your chapter meetings, events, or work with your chapter officers directly. They are here to support you.

Anika Yadav

Anika currently serves as the North Central Region FBLA Council Communications and Legislative Director and the Waukee FBLA chapter Vice President. In addition to FBLA, she is involved in her high school’s Superintendent’s Advisory Council, Model UN, Mock Trial, Poetry Out Loud, Track and Field, and Color Guard. Outside of school, she is engaged with the Youth Leadership Initiative of Greater Des Moines Partnership and FIRST Lego League Mentoring. In her free time, you can find Anika spending time with family and friends, writing poetry, swimming, traveling, and trying new foods! She is eager to meet our members from across the state and form lifelong relationships. Anika is honored and extremely excited to work alongside the fantastic Iowa FBLA state officer team this year!

Peyton is currently the secretary for the Chariton FBLA chapter. In addition to FBLA, she is involved in Student Council, FCA, SPLASH, TRIO, HOSA, and her school’s steering committee. She also enjoys completing service projects to improve her community. Athletically, Peyton is involved in volleyball, softball, and golf. She enjoys spending her free time fishing, playing with her dog, as well as being with family and friends. This year, Peyton is looking forward to building and accomplishing great things with her fellow state officers.

Sydney is currently the Creston FBLA chapter President. Sydney is also active in Student Government, The Crossing which is a student run retail store, and the Creston Chamber of Commerce. She is also a part of the cross country and track teams. In her free time Sydney enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Sydney is extremely excited to be a part of the Iowa FBLA officer team and hopes to help Iowa FBLA continue moving forward.

Isaac Ericson

Isaac is currently a member of the Waukon FBLA chapter where he actively participates in fundraising and community service events. Outside of FBLA, Isaac is also involved in football, swim team, track and Burst youth group. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, and boating. Isaac also refs local park and rec sports, works at a local farm and helps with his family’s land surveying business and organic farm. Isaac is looking forward to new opportunities and networking with other Iowa FBLA members as he serves this year.

Tyler is currently the Ankeny FBLA Chapter President. Outside of FBLA, Tyler is involved in Cross Country, Silver Cord, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is also a substitute Sunday School Teacher, and he is the youngest member of the Church Council at Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Tyler created and runs a business to raise money for Hope Animal Rescue of Iowa, and he has donated $1000 so far. Some of his favorite hobbies are hanging out with friends, exercising, ping pong, and playing with his dogs. Tyler is honored to work with all of the amazing people at Iowa FBLA.

Keerthana Balakrishnan

Keerthana is currently the State Liaison for the Linn Mar FBLA chapter. Outside of FBLA, she is involved in Key Club, and serves as Governor of the Nebraska-Iowa district board. She is also involved in student council, and SODA. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends, playing the violin, reading, and watching Netflix. Keerthana is very excited and honored to work alongside the amazing state officers this year.
