National Leadership Conference June 6-8, 2026 Las Vegas, Nevada The National Leadership Conference (NLC) is held during the summer months in a selected city in the United States. Iowa's top place competitive event winners with a counterpart national event are eligible to compete at the NLC. All Iowa members and advisers are eligible to attend, based on local and state guidelines. In addition to competitive events, the NLC consists of tours, business meetings, special interest sessions, seminars, workshops, awards programs, election and installation of national officers, and other planned educational/leadership development activities. NLC Registration Information Download National FBLA NLC Website Go IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION Registration for the 2026 National Leadership Conference will be completed with Iowa FBLA through Blue Panda . PLEASE DO NOT register with National FBLA for the 2026 National Leadership Conference. Iowa FBLA will review and verify your chapter’s registration on your behalf and complete your registration. This service is included in the $25 state registration fee. Blue Panda Registration Costs Member Fee: $195 + $25 state registration* Adviser & Chaperone Fee: $125 + $25 state registration* *Registration deadline is April 16 by 5 PM CST. State Leadership Conference The Iowa FBLA State Leadership Conference (SLC) is a three-day conference held each spring. The conference consists of general sessions, competitive events, seminars, workshops, the election of officers, awards and recognition, special programs, and other leadership and educational learning activities. 2026 State Leadership Conference Date: March 29-31, 2026 Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa Register Here Deadlines Conference Hotel Registration Costs Hotel Costs Conference rates are based on the number of nights the attendee stays at an official Iowa FBLA hotel. Registration cost is separate from the hotel cost. Standard Rate (Members, Advisers, & Adults) $105 - For reservations at least two nights $125 - For reservations at least one night $140 - If not staying in official Iowa FBLA hotel block $25 - Awards of Excellence Session Only (Tuesday, March 31st) Chapters should budget and plan for a nightly hotel rate of $174. This is the highest rate of all approved hotel properties. The chapter's hotel preference may not be available when selecting the hotel choice; property rates shouldn't be used for budgeting and planning purposes. The chapter will be invoiced based on the pricing of the hotel assigned after the close of registration. The hotel rate is separate from the registration cost. The race to SLC starts now, and we can't wait to see you there! - Team 79 Walk for a Purpose Join Iowa FBLA as we "Walk for a Purpose" to the State Leadership Conference and raise money for our national service partner, the Alzheimer's Association. What is Walk for a Purpose? Walk for a Purpose is the state officer team's statewide service project. This project was developed to help chapters come together to raise money for a good cause. Members can track their steps and compete to see who records the most steps on their way to SLC. How can I participate? Download the Challenge Hound app and join the Walk for a Purpose Challenge ! Create an account or sign in to join. Then, follow the prompts to make your donation to the Alzheimer's Association. The cost to join is $5 and all proceeds from the challenge will go to the Alzheimer's Association. How do I log my activity? You can log your steps manually in the Challenge Hound app OR connect an app or smart device and automatically sync your activities. State Leadership Conference Scholarship Presented by the High School State Officer Team, the 2026 SLC Scholarship awards one deserving member with free registration (valued at $105) to the State Leadership Conference. Registration Instructions Qualifying Presentations Events The top two (2) entries in each qualifying event from each District will advance to the State Leadership Conference. Any unfilled spots and at minimum three spots will be ‘wild card’ spots for students to advance to the state conference. For more information on the wild card process, please review the wild card section in the DLC guide. Members will follow the National FBLA Guidelines and Preliminary Rating Sheets. Prejudged Materials Deadline: December 3 Business Ethics - Report (PDF) Digital Animation - Video (URL) Digital Video Production - Project (URL) Job Interview - Cover Letter, Resume (PDF) Online Objective Tests Online objective tests will be taken prior to the District Leadership Conference at each local high school. This allows student members who are interested in competing at the district level to enter into a competitive event but not be required to attend the actual event on the day-of if their schedule does not allow. Students competing in only objective tests are still able to attend the conference (though not required) and take advantage of the networking opportunities, educational content, and participate in workshops during the in-person conference. Online Testing Window & Time November 21 - December 3 --> Districts 1 & 5 November 21 - December 10 --> Districts 2, 3, 4, & 6 7:00AM - 7:00PM CST during testing window All objective tests are non-qualifying events or ‘straight-to-state’ events. Any member competing in a non-qualifying objective test event, will be eligible to advance to the State Leadership Conference, if desired. Members in the top four (4) will be recognized during the District Leadership Conference’s Awards of Excellence Ceremony.
